201 Vêtements en latex
Clothing doesn't has to be made from tissue always. Our ancestors wore animal fur and some more or less tanned versions of leather. Felts from animal hair are traceable from the late Neolithic. Woven woolens and textiles came up later, as the invention of looms enabled their production.
New materials for clothing came up in the 2nd half of 19th century with modern chemistry methods expanded into all areas of life. Charles Goodyear in 1839 invented vulcanisation, a method of making natural rubber much more durable against temperature and permanently elastic. Rubber in its modern form was born. Clothing from rubber (outside of gloves, boots and waders) was not existing until the 20th century, but textiles were coated with latex or rubber to make them water repellent (rainwear).
After World War II body hugging clothing from rubber was manufactured and become popular after the sexual revolution in the 70th. Rubber clothing is stylish and en vogue. Visit the big Fetish meetings in summer and watch the loads of sweaty, shiny black bodies in Berlin, Paris or San Francisco. You'll think that "rubber meeting" does fit the event more. The sweetish aroma mixing with harsh and bitter tastes of leather and piss to a lustful composition.
